it takes a village.

It takes a village they say.

It’s true. It does.

It takes leaning on family, friends, neighbors and everyone else when you need.

It takes trusting others.

It takes letting them in.

It takes knowing that you may not be able to “pay them back” for how they help.

It takes telling the truth, and not living in the “I’m fine” of life moments.

It takes it all.

It takes a village.

It is impossibly hard to let others in and allow them to help. It’s hard to let friends see your messy, falling apart life. We all want to keep this vision of being the perfect wife, mom, friend, daughter or sister. We don’t want others to see that we are barely keeping it together at times.

I promise you, in those moments, when you let others in, when you let your village help you, not only will you be blessed by your friend, neighbor or family, but they will undoubtedly be blessed by being able to help you.

God created us to be in community with one another. We are called to carry one another burdens (Galatians 6:2) and love one another (John 15:12). We need to trust the people who God has put in our lives. Lean into those when we need help, and trust them in the messy.

So, don’t struggle alone today, reach out, ask for help, trust others, and trust that God knows exactly what you need and has provided you with it, and put people in your life that can be help you through.

Because, sis, it takes a village.
